Case 02 · Lip filler, gradual
Sofia came in asking for 'just a little more lip' — a phrase that, in our experience, is almost always best served by three sessions, not one. Built up over four months with Restylane Kysse, the goal was structure first, volume second, and no single visit that registered as 'before and after.'
Sofia D. is the patient archetype lip-filler conversations should always start with: early 30s, naturally proportionate lip-to-face ratio, asking for refinement rather than transformation. She wanted a fuller-looking lip line for the camera without losing the shape of her mouth. She had specifically not booked anywhere else because everyone else she consulted with had quoted 1.5cc in a single visit.
Our standard answer to a 1.5cc single-visit ask is to break it into three. The reasoning is two-fold. First, results: layering structural Kysse in 0.5cc increments lets the lip integrate between visits, settles asymmetry naturally, and gives us a corrected baseline before each subsequent injection. Second, optics: nobody around her — partner, mother, colleagues — was meant to notice the change as a change. The three-session approach delivers that.

Visit-by-visit
Week 0
Consultation. Patient brought reference photos of her own lips from age 25. Dr. Park mapped a three-session plan focused on body, then border, then balance. Booked session 1 same week.
Week 1
Session 1: 0.5cc Kysse, deep injection along the body of both upper and lower lips. Goal was structural support, not visible volume. Sofia described the result as 'I look like I slept well,' which was the brief.
Week 7
Session 2: 0.5cc Kysse along the vermilion border and a touch into the cupid's bow. The result added the line definition that the first session had built a base for. Photo evidence of subtle, even change.
Week 13
Session 3: 0.5cc Kysse for final balance — micro-corrections to asymmetry that had revealed itself once the first two sessions integrated. Final result was the equivalent of a 1.5cc single-session treatment, except: no one noticed it was filler.
Week 26
Six-month maintenance review. Patient booked a 0.3cc top-up for next year and re-upped the VIP membership.
In the patient's words
Everyone else wanted to do it in one visit. Dr. Park was the first person who told me it would look better — and last longer — if we built it slowly. She was right. My mother never said a word. My partner said I looked happy. That is exactly what I came in asking for.
